Family photographer Cheshire - What is lifestyle photography?

You may have heard of the term 'lifestyle photography' before and wondered what it actually means. Well, it's a style of creating beautiful memories that capture you, your personality and the interaction between family members without giving you the feel of being observed or being in a photography studio. It is all about you! You ought to have fun while being photographed!

A lifestyle session usually takes place either at your house, your garden or a favourite place of yours such as a park. For couples, this could even be the place where you first met. The comfort of your own home or the atmosphere of a familiar place make you feel at ease and relaxed. It is about recording you as naturally as possible, in every day activities: children playing and running around, cuddles with mum and dad, your little girl smelling a flower, a couple whispering into each other’s ear, siblings teasing each other – the little activities which you carry out in every day life and the specific gestures that define you.

Any season is suitable for a lifestyle shoot: every season has its own appeal and beauty. Please see below an example of a spring session with the beautiful McCafferty family.
