In mid March, I entered a little collaboration with Tea Hive, an amazing little coffee shop in the heart of Chorlton that makes the best cakes ever!!! Whilst my friend call me the desert queen, I cannot bake anything as nearly as delicious as Michelle and Vicky from Tea Hive create!!! If you have never been there, you are seriously missing out, their cakes are heaven! My favourite is Salted Caramel and Chocolate :)
So, Tea Hive run a little competition for one to two year old children to win a cake smash session with me. What is a cake smash, you may ask? It is held to celebrate a child's first birthday, whereby parents will take their child for a photography session during which the little one gets a whole cake to eat, smash, destroy and just generally have fun with it. The photographer will record this lovely moment with her/his camera and the images will then be beautifully presented as a collage, for example in a frame, or in a book. The sequence of images together tells a nice story and is a precious memory and keepsake for the parents. It is great fun and is indeed becoming more and more popular.
Little Lottie won the competition and Tea Hive made the most gorgeous giant cupcake I have ever seen. And even in my favourite colour, yellow! Lottie was adorable! She wasn't quite sure at first if she is allowed to touch or eat the cake, but with a little encouragement, she did a smashing job! And she even left a little piece for me to eat. Mmmmhh, it was yummy!
Lottie's images have been mounted in a beautiful wooden multi aperture frame, which is now on display in Tea Hive for 6 months, after which Lottie's parents will take the frame home :-) If you are interested in a portrait session or interested in gifting someone with a photography experience, we have a special offer for Tea Hive customers, available only at Tea Hive. Feel free to ask their wonderful staff.
